Meet Preslee Ann…and her birth story!

She is here, she is here!!

After 39 weeks of being pregnant, we are now holding our sweet little baby girl. Baby girl #3 to be exact.

I woke up Tuesday morning and all was well, other than the fact that i thought my water had just broke. So 6:00 am I’m getting Mike up to ask his opinion. Come 8:00 I decided to call the doctor. He wanted me to come down to the hospital to get check out in the chance that my water did break. Turns out after sitting there for two or so hours, my water didn’t break and there was no increase in contractions. So walk of shame #1 was out of the way πŸ™‚

We went home and I took a nap. Got up from the nap and was still having contractions on and off. Still nothing consistent. I had a chiropractor’s appt that afternoon and decided to keep that. At that appointment Dr. Gretchen put everything into place and worked on a few pressure points that “could” get things started more regularly. Contractions continued on and we brought the girls out to my parents’ house for the night. Mike was thinking, more that I, that we would for sure be going to the hospital that night to have Preslee. He was right!

We got home, I wanted to shower and after the shower, contractions were about 2-3 minutes apart. A little scary at that point since we were a good 15 minutes from the hospital. We were admitted to the hospital about 9:00 and I was dilated to a 4-5. While in triage they were getting all the anaesthesiologist’s questions done as well as IV’s put in and all that jazz.  Once we were brought to my birthing room upstairs, the best surprise was waiting there for me.  The Anesthesiologist!!  Once in my room I had one contraction, the epidural was placed and while he was going that I had my last contraction…that I could feel.  Praise God!

From there it was just finding the right combination of how to lay that was the most comfortable and then trying to sleep a bit. Before I knew it, it was time to start getting ready for delivery! After pushing for two contractions, baby girl was out!  Again, Praise God! I helped deliver her and brought her right onto my chest.  It was and is the most amazing experience I’ve ever had…all three of my girls.

Preslee Ann was born at 12:53 am on July 27, 2011. (We weren’t even at the hospital for 4 hours until we had her!)  Our biggest baby yet, weighing in at 8 lbs 5 oz and 20 inches long.  NO ONE would have guessed she was going to be that big πŸ™‚

After that it’s all the clean up and recovery garbage that I won’t go into detail on.  No one needs to know that πŸ™‚

Now here we sit in our hospital room, relishing in the quietness that is around us.  Oh how our world is about to be turned upside down when we get home with a newborn, a 5 year old, a 2 year old and a dog!  EEKS!  But for now, peace and quite πŸ™‚

I love Preslee Ann. Such a sweet name. Your girls all have super cool names. We aren't ready for #3 yet, but we used both our boy and girl names on Jack and Annabelle and it took us like 3 years to come up with those. We better start thinking now for #3. πŸ™‚

You have a beautiful family. And my kids must be around the same age as yours because when I had my baby girl we also had a 5 yr. old and 2 yr. old. It's so fun (most of the time!) πŸ˜‰

    Congratulations!!!
