a plea to my body. and a thank you to my thyroid.

dear body,

i understand you are tired.  i understand i don’t treat you the way i should.  i take the time and energy and invest it in to my kids, when i should take more and put it in to you.  i know.  and i’m sorry.  but please.  just cooperate and give me some grace. i am trying.  i want to do better.  let me do what i want.  i will stretch more.  i will sleep more.  i will stress less.

i just want to be able to run. it is my one escape that i am able to coordinate in to my crazy schedule i have. it’s my only release. 🙂

my thyroid is normal now.  hallelejah.  thank you for that.

so let’s agree on something here body.  i’ll be good to you, if you be good to me.  deal?

  1. I didn’t realize you struggled with your thyroid, Shannon. I’ve had this same conversation with myself many times, but over my oversized heart not matching my otherwise healthy body:) Glad to hear you’re doing well and hoping that you continue to find time for your runs.

    1. Seems like whenever I have babies, it messes my thyroid up. It is hereditary…so I always have to make sure I stay on top of things. And I hear ya about the body. You are amazing though Renee!! Simply amazing!
