We had a blast at the Pups and Pucks event a couple weeks back that the Grand Rapids Griffins and Mackenzie’s Animal Shelter held. What a great event! It was a last minute decision to go, but so glad we went.
It was a fundraiser and there were a ton of people there. Both girls got a stuffed animal (that of which Adalynn lost hers about an hour later 🙁 ) So, now they share one! Not to mention….MANY of the Grand Rapids Griffins HOCKEY players!!
We got to take a walk of the facility. It was amazing! It was out in the middle of no where and there were dogs everywhere! You were able to bring your own dog. We decided not to bring Abbie this time though. People are not allowed to bring their dogs to this facility, how it works – in my understanding – is they go to the humane society and see if there are any dogs that they can save from being euthanized. I think that is very noble. From there they bring them back to see if there is any “hope” for retraining them and re-socializing, etc. From there, if all goes as planned, they re-home them. So you can go there and adopt! Some of the dogs they had were adorable! You can see some HERE!
They also have use for a ton of volunteers. I hope that some day I will have the time to be able to help out here. What a great cause! If you want to help out and volunteer, click on this link to learn more.
So, now on to my pictures from the day. Enjoy!!
Seriously, this goat cracked us up. The girls both loved him! He was head butting one of the hockey players, I wish I would have got a picture of it. So funny!
The hay ride was a lot of fun too!
Then Lili was able to make and take a pumpkin with her! She had a lot of fun painting!
Her buddy!!
LOTS of players and coaches!
On the way home…Lili is immitating her new dog. She thinks he looks sad so she wants to look sad too 🙂 And then, there is silly Adalynn…
