i…won…shoes!!!

I was in Nashville for Blissdom.  There were people winning things left and right. One of the opportunities was to win a shoe shopping spree from Famous Footwear.

With high hopes, we all put a business card in a bowl to hopefully win the shopping spree.  However, once the reality of winning set in – Stacey and I both agreed that the idea of winning was fabulous…but the idea of going up in front of all those people was less than desirable.

They came on stage, said there were now going to be THREE winners of the shopping spree.  They pulled the first winner – and unfortunately for her she wasn’t present, so they picked again.  The next winner was sick and wouldn’t break a smile for anything!  Once she had all the shoes in her hands however we did see a glimpse of a smile.  Lucky her.

The second winner didn’t answer immediately either.  As they were about to pick a winner she came running in from the hall.  She was on the phone.  She was yelling practically at the people running the show because she didn’t’ know why she was on the stage and what she had won.  I was baffled.  I said if I won I would be jumping up and down with excitement.  I even tweeted that!

The last winner’s card was pulled from the bowl.  The announcer said, “it’s a small one.” My heart skipped a beat and then he put it up so we could see it.  I knew it was mine immediately because I have a small business card and my picture is on the back of the card.  Stacey and Jodi both yelled “IT’S YOURS SHANNON!”

It was, I jumped up and down (like a little fairy fluttering her wings) and ran up there.  I filled out the necessary paperwork and then it was the spree.  The first pair of shoes I chose were PINK Asics….obviously!! 🙂

Now don’t judge…yes I look like a total dork.  I was wearing a short dress and boots.  I totally would have got more shoes and looked more normal was I wearing my running shoes and different clothes LOL!
