Lili threw her first ALL OUT fit in the middle of Target.

It was mortifying.  Everyone was looking at me.  I couldn’t believe she did that.  She definitely knows better – and that is why I think I felt so bad.  Did I go when she was too tired?  Was it somehow my fault?  Either way, I had to do something to let her know that is NOT allowed in our house.  We immediately went home after getting what I had to get at the store.  We cancelled ALL our plans for the rest of the day – she would not be rewarded for acting this way.  I felt SO bad cancelling though.  We were supposed to go to Gingerbread Lane at the library and make her first Gingerbread House of the year.  She was absolutely crushed!

I know her personality, and if she gets away with something once, she will do it over and over.  That is why we have to parent so strongly with her. God has given this little blessing to us and I am trying my hardest to do the BEST job I can do.  Praise God! 🙂

When I called to cancel I asked if there were any others with availability.  There happened to be one closer, so I booked that.  That way I was still able to bring Lili, but she was not rewarded for acting SO poorly.  She didn’t know that until I took her today…you can read more about today’s activity HERE.

Have you had to ever do anything like that?  How did you handle it?  I felt SO bad but knew deep down I was doing the right thing.  I feel like there are so many children out in the world these days that have no direction and no regard to authority.  We work very hard on our kids being told “one time – act on it the first time”.  Any input?
