Potty Training Day #1

Oh what a day!  I honestly didn’t think I would be this wore out JUST from potty training half a day.  By 7:00 tonight I was in so much pain!!  And now I am completely exhausted!!

We started after Adalynn’s nap today because we had some running around to do this morning and Lili had dance.  Tomorrow will be a FULL day.

Oh she was SO excited to wear her “big girl panties!”  This is how the day started…

And this is how the day ended….

Poor Adalynn!! 🙁  She was so excited when we started, but as the day went on she just got more and more tired.

By 6:00 tonight she was completely melting down.  At 7:00 she was ready for bed.  I kept her up until 7:30 – and glad I did because she had one more success!!!  She didn’t know what to do though.  She would go over to the bathroom and go potty, but then didn’t know what to do after that.  She just sat on the potty and cried.  🙁   We have M&M’s as her “reward” and she didn’t want them at all after each success that she had.  I think she was SO confused! LOL!

She even went into her room to get a diaper – I forgot to throw some of those out.  Duh!!  I told her they were the babies’ now.  She just walked away and started crying :(.  Then another Duh moment happened when I realized that the case of diapers I had to bring out to the garage was LEFT IN THE LIVING ROOM.  So about 10 minutes after she tried putting her diapers on in her room, she noticed them in the living room.  I just grabbed them and put them on the porch.  I felt HORRIBLE!

I also felt SO bad because Lili just kind of “hung out” all day.  I felt like I neglected her so much!!  She is such a sweet girl though.  After I got Adalynn in bed, I was apologizing to her about the day and she just says to me, “Mom, it’ s ok.  I understand and I forgive you.  I know that it’s hard to do all these things and I know that it’s going to be hard when baby #3 comes too.  But you have me to help you out, you know that, right Mommy?”  ZOMG!  She is only 5!!  Her heart is so sweet!!!

Here is to hoping that tomorrow will be better.  I know it’s just the first day, and the fact that we had three successes in 5 hours is amazing, in my opinion.  I am happy all in all with the day.  🙂
