At 9:00 am today I am going under the knife again. This time it will be on both my feet. In October of 2009 I had surgery on my right foot to remove a neuroma as well as lengthen my calf.
Well, of all things, the neuroma in my right foot came back. Suck! Very rare. Lovely… So Dr. Maskill, (amazing surgeon, doctor and good person) is going in to clip that nerve again on the right foot. We figured since he is going to be there, and I’m going to be under, why not do my other foot as well. So the left foot will have a neuroma taken out and calf lengthened.
Since I am a runner, having this issue is a major issue. It causes pain with every step. It’s like this….pretend you have a ball between your toe bones and then you step on your foot. Yah, that’s what it feels like. So to go and run long distances on it…not an option without a ton of pain and numbness…and on and on.
